Bespoke advice,
specification &
design

We will work closely with you at the start of a project to understand why you want to install solar panels and make sure that the scale, design and technical specification are right for your property and budget.  We will spend time outlining the product options available to you and their relative merits.

Most properties do not require planning permission for solar panels to be installed, but if your property does (for example, if you live in a conservation area or listed building) we will help you to efficiently navigate the planning process.

We will ensure your project complies with your local authority’s building regulations.

If your property is not suitable for solar panels, for example if it does not get sufficient sunlight, we will let you know as early as possible in the process.

Solar panel &
battery systems

Once we have understood your requirements, we will help you to select the right energy solution. At a minimum this will include solar panels, an inverter and a bi-directional electricity meter. The inverter will convert the energy generated by your panels into usable electricity. The bi-directional meter will measure how much electricity you are generating, using and returning to the grid. Your system will need to be sufficiently large to generate enough energy for your needs.

Many of our customers see the benefits of installing a battery as part of their solar-panel system. You can use a battery to store the energy your solar panels are generating. You can also use the battery to store energy when it is supplied inexpensively from the grid. We will help you to consider whether you should install a battery and how best to install it safely, and with the right level of performance.

On every project we will provide a detailed cost breakdown, and an estimate of the energy you can potentially generate and associated cost savings.

System set-up &
registration with
your DNO

Once the installation is complete, we will make sure your system is configured correctly and that you are comfortable using your new technology. Our products are selected for their ease of use as well as performance, and you’ll be able to monitor how they work via apps that we road-test before recommending.

Once your system is installed, it must be registered within 28 days with your DNO (Distribution Network Operator) – the local owner of the grid infrastructure.  We will manage this process for you, so that they are notified that you will be producing energy from your solar panels.

For larger projects, it may be necessary to apply to your DNO before the installation begins. We will advise you on which process you need to follow.

Maintenance, finance
& ongoing support

As a local solar-panel installer, we are on hand to support you as you get your system up and running. We only work with products where manufacturer warranties are offered, and we will help troubleshoot any issues should they arise.

Like boilers, solar panels benefit from regular servicing. If you would like to set up a service plan for your system or consider financing options for your project, please discuss this with us.

Provide some details
about your home

Fill in our online form or call us so that we can do an initial check on your property’s suitability for solar panels. To do this we’ll ask you to tell us what you can about the aspect, size, material and condition of your roof. We’ll provide an initial quote and cost breakdown for a solar project on your property. After you have provided us with the information we need, our response time is usually 1-3 days.

Agree quotation & proposal

If you wish to proceed, we’ll visit your home to discuss the project in more detail. At this stage we’ll ask you more about your energy usage and needs, and confirm you are happy with the elements within the project. If revisions to the quote are needed after our visit, a revised quote and cost breakdown will be provided. Once we have met with you it will take us 1-2 weeks to develop your proposal.

Installation

Once you have signed-off our proposal, we will work with you to agree suitable timings for your system installation. Typically, the installation should take less than a week, although this will depend on the project’s size and complexity.

Set-up & system registration

We’ll make sure your system is performing optimally and that you are confident running it. Once your system is up and operating, it needs to be registered with your DNO (District Network Operator). As an MCS-approved installer, we will make sure that this is done within the 28-day deadline. On larger projects you may be required to register your system ahead of the project starting, and we will advise you of this.
